Once this is in place the next step is to implement an accounting software. Modern accounting software's will integrate with your business bank account and pull in transactions in live time. You bank feed captures all cash movements in your business. Modern bank accounts like Mercury will share insights in to your cash flows, but strictly looking at cash flow is not enough.

An accounting software will help you to understand how much you spend each month on marketing, software, payroll, and interest.

It will produce income statements, balance sheets, statements of cash flows for you to view and analyze. It will provide you with the ability to export general ledgers and financial statements to send to your accountant to file your taxes.

Once you implement an accounting software, it is of the utmost importance that you keep your bank accounts reconciled to what is on your accounts. This will create accurate financial statements each month.
